Why Should Adults Validate the Existence of Young People? #Via www.whydo.co.uk

Full Question:

"Why do you think people with more life experience than most of you should bother themselves with validating your existence? We've been there 'n got the Tee-shirt, apart from a newer (and much poorer) vocabulary what could we possibly have to learn - other than the eternal arrogance of some young people is undiminished? One day you'll be embarrassed by this." #Via www.whydo.co.uk

Interesting question. For all the life experience adults undoubtedly have, why are young people in the state they are in? Because adults do not reach out to them, you do not share your life experience with us.

Validating existence, now this is very condescending, I was under the impression that the REASON we exist is because your generation BROUGHT us into existence. The very statement tells me you have no regard for the very beings you have brought on to this earth.

Yes, young people are arrogant, why?

They have had to live and survive by finding out and experimenting by themselves. Their parents are not there for them; they work 9-5/6/7 in the evening, are too tired to cook, too tired to spend time with their children, so yes, if that was how I was living I would be arrogant too, because I would feel a heightened sense of injustice, a heightened sense that I have got where I am WITHOUT the guidance of an adult.

Adults need to step back and take a look at themselves and ask themselves "have I provided my seed with the best future? Have we done a good job raising our children? Have we passed on any skills? At the end of the day these young people are IMITATING what they see adults do.

"Your children need your presence more than your presents" ~Jesse Jackson - Where are the adults in the lives of young people today?

"Don't worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you" ~Robert Fulghum -This goes without saying.

So please, before you try to impose your superiority on this generation consider that for all your superiority, this generation is now worse off than other generations.

Finally, I do not think we will be embarrassed, at the end of the day I have come up with this idea as a young person trying to bridge the gap, when truly it should be the ADULTS doing this from our day of birth.

SO no, I would not be embarrassed over my attempts to reach out to your generation, perhaps with a little more open-mindedness you would notice that there is alot to learn from young people. The very owners of social networking concepts which we all use such as facebook and twitter were created by YOUNG PEOPLE.

I think you need to give more respect to young people, because it is attitudes like this that cause young people to be so rebellious.
